A communications system, also known as a communications network, is a grouping of separate telecommunications network systems, relay stations, tributary stations, and terminal equipment that can typically be interconnected and operated as a single unit. A communication system’s component work together, share common goals, follow similar protocols, respond to controls, and are technically compatible.
